A Cartridge Error Shows on the Control Panel

Solution one : Use authentic 123 HP OJ150 cartridges

In case the cartridges are compatible, proceed with the solutions. In case the cartridges are not compatible, replace the cartridges.

Solution two : Ensure that the cartridges are installed appropriately

After reaching the front access cover, place the tri-color cartridge in the left opening and the black cartridge in the right opening. Besides, ensure that the cartridge latches are closed. Shut the front access cover and then let the cartridge initialization process to finish. If you still find problem you can detach and reinsert the cartridges. After accessing the front access cover, raise the cartridge latch and then, without much pressure, detach the cartridge from the carriage. In case the error message does not specify a specific cartridge, detach both cartridges. In case the cartridge still contains the protective tape with the pink pull tab, eliminate it. You can then re-attach the cartridge into the carriage slot. Shut the cartridge latch and the front access cover. Wait for the cartridge initialization process to finish.

Solution three : Clean the contacts on the cartridges

Access the front access cover, raise the cartridge latch and then, without force, eliminate the cartridge from the carriage. In case the error message does not specify a specific cartridge, detach both cartridges. You can examine the cartridge contacts for ink formation and dirt. Now clean the cartridge contacts and print carriage contacts, and give some time for them to dry. After placing the cartridge into the carriage slot, shut the cartridge latch. You can re-iterate the step for the other cartridge. Shut the front access cover and give time for the 123 HP OJ150 cartridge initialization to complete. If you still face the problem, go to the next solution.

Solution four : Switch off the printer and switch it on again

Initially, switch off the printer and after some time switch on the printer. If the issue still takes place proceed with the next solution.

Solution five : Perform the solution to clean the contacts again

You can clean the contacts on the print carriage and the cartridges.

Solution six : Substitute the problem cartridge

You can access the front access cover after switching on the 123 HP Setup oj150 printer. Halt for some time for the carriage to remain idle and quiet. Raise the cartridge latch, and then without much pressure, detach the cartridge from the carriage. Take away the new cartridge from its package and then detach the protective tape. After placing the cartridge into the carriage slot, you can seal the cartridge latch. Shut the front access cover. You can also attempt at aligning the cartridges by touching the Right arrow on the product control panel. After tapping Setup, you can align the ink cartridges through the Tools menu.

Internal power supply

Step 1 : Re-configure the power module and examine the wall outlet

Firstly, detach the power cord from the back of the printer, wall socket, surge protector or power strip. Connect another appliance into the wall socket, and then switch it on to ensure that the socket works. In case the wall socket works you can relink the power cord to the back of the printer after the printer has been detached for at least 60 seconds. Attach the power cord straight into the wall socket. Examine the back of the printer and the ink cartridge access area to confirm whether the internal power module has an indicator light. In case the internal power module consists of a light and the light is on, but the printer still does not switch on, you can proceed with the next step. You can go to the next step even if the internal power module does not have a light.

Step 2 : Examine the printer Power button

Ensure that the power cord is linked to the back of the 123 HP Setup oj150 printer and is linked directly into a wall socket. Press and then release the Power button to commence a Power On/Off cycle. In case the printer does not switch on, halt 10 seconds and then press the Power button again. If the power indicator is not on, go to the next step.

Step 3 : Examine the power with another compatible power cord

In case the printer switches on with a different power cord, the original power cord impacted the problem. You can substitute the power cord. In case the 123 HP OJ150 printer does not switch on with a different power cord, you can proceed with the next step.

Step 4 : Substitute the power module or the printer

In case a substitute power module is available and you want to replace it, you can make use of the procedure available.

External power supply

Step 1 : Examine the compatibility of the external power module

Ensure that the connector on the external power module cord is in the similar color and shape as that of the connector on the printer. Suppose the power cord connector is not compatible with the printer, substitute the power cord with a compatible one. Suppose the printer uses a power module with a removable power cord, detach the cord from the power module. Ensuring that the 123.hp.com/oj150 printer is unplugged, connect another appliance into the wall socket and then switch it on to ensure that the socket functions. You can connect the printer into a socket that functions in case the wall outlet does not function. In case the wall socket works, proceed with these steps. Step 4 : Check the power with a compatible power cord

Suppose the printer switches on with a different power cord, the original power cord triggered the issue. You can substitute the power cord. In case the printer does not switch on with a different power cord and the power module indicator light is switched on, you can replace the printer. In case the printer does not switch on with a different power cord and the power module indicator light is switched off, proceed with the next step.

Step 5 : Substitute the power module

In case a substitute power module is not available you can replace or repair the 123 HP OJ150 printer. You can carry out this solution even if you find a substitute for the power module and the problem still takes place. In case the replacement power module is available, get a substitute for it.

Mobile printer with a battery

Step 1 : Verify the power without the battery

Ensure that the printer has been attached to a wall socket with the battery fixed for at least two hours. For mobile printers equipped with a battery cover, eliminate the battery cover. As soon as the battery cover has been detached, push on the battery latch, and then slide the battery out of its opening. For mobile printers that are not equipped with a battery cover, position the battery release slider on the upper part of the battery to the left. You can then detach the battery from the printer by pulling the right end. Switch on the 123 HP OJ150 printer. If the printer does not switch on with the battery detached, go to the next step.

Step 2 : Reconfigure the printer and verify the wall socket

Detach the power cord from the back of the printer and wall socket. With the printer being disconnected, link another appliance into the wall socket. You can then switch it on to ensure that the outlet functions. In case the wall outlet does not function link the printer into a socket that functions. If the wall socket functions, proceed with these steps. After the printer has been detached for at least 60 seconds, re-link the power cord to the back of the 123 HP OJ150 printer. Connect the power cord directly into the wall socket. When the printer does not switch on, go to the next step.

Step 3 : Check the power with another compatible power cord

In case the 123 HP Setup oj150 printer switches on with a different power cord, the original power cord triggered the issue. You can replace the power cord.

Step 4 : Examine the power using only the battery

For mobile printers consisting of battery cover, you can re-insert the battery by placing the battery into its opening, and then pushing the left side of the battery until it locks into place. Position the battery cover into its opening and then ensure that the left side of the cover locks into place. For mobile printers not having a battery cover, reinstall the battery by loading the left end into the battery’s opening, and then pushing the battery into the battery’s opening until it locks into place. Stop for 15 minutes to confirm that the 123 HP OJ150 printer charges the battery. Then you can unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
