Printing is the basic function. It is the process done to replicate text or images using a template. HP Deskjet 4530 supports ePrint fro Android devices and AirPrint for Mac.

To print a document (Windows)

  • Choose the option to Print from your system and make sure your 123 HP Deskjet 4530 Printer name is selected.
  • Enter the number of pages to be printed and click OK to begin printing.

To print documents (OS X)

  • Choose the option to Print from the File menu in your system.
  • Specify the page properties and click OK to begin printing.

To print on both sides of the page

  • Select the option Print and choose your printer name.
  • Open the properties dialog box and choose the layout tab.
  • Select Flip on Long Edge or Flip on Short Edge from the Print on Both Sides drop-down list.
  • Click OK to print.

To print from your mobile device

  • The mobile device and 123.hp.com/deskjet 4530 printer should be connected to the same network.
  • Choose the photo and document you want to print and select your printer name.
  • Confirm print settings and click OK to print the document.


Scanning is a function by which one can digitize the document or photo and send it to our computer. Scanning can be performed from 123.hp.com/dj4530 printer display or from the printer software on your computer.

To scan an original from the printer control panel

  • Place the original print on the right front corner of the scanner glass.
  • Select the option Scan.
  • Choose the computer that you want to scan to and the type of scan that you want.
  • Select OK.

To scan a document or photo to a file (Windows)

  • Place the original print on the right front corner of the scanner glass.
  • Double-click the printer icon on the desktop.
  • Click Scan a Document or Photo in the printer software.
  • Choose the type of scan you want and then click Scan.

To scan an original from 123 HP Deskjet 4530 Printer software (OS X)

  • Open HP Scan that is located in Applications/Hewlett-Packard folder.
  • Choose the type of scan profile you want and follow the on-screen instructions.

To scan using Webscan

  • Place the original print on the right front corner of the scanner glass.
  • Open the Embedded Web Server and click on the Settings tab.
  • Open Administrator Settings under the security section.
  • Click apply and then OK.
  • Select the Scan tab and choose Webscan on the left pane and then click Start Scan.


Copying means making a digital copy of the image that the copier just copied which is stored long enough to create a duplicate print of the original. This is done instantly with the push of a button.

  • Place the original print on the right front corner of the scanner glass.
  • From the Home screen, select Copy and choose the desired number of copies.
  • Go to settings and choose Resize to make sure Actual is selected.
  • If you require 2-sided option then turn it on.
  • Select Start Black or Start Color to start the copy job.
  • When prompted, load the second original and touch OK.

Clearing Paper Jam

  • Loose paper in the input or output tray may cause a paper jam. Pull out the output tray and remove any loose paper that is present. Remove all the papers from the input tray and check for any jammed paper.
  • Check the rollers thoroughly for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the output tray. Check for torn pieces of paper in the rear output bin, duplexer and fuser area.
  • Check if the carriage can move freely across the width of the printer and it is not stuck in one end.
  • Make sure that the printer is placed on a flat surface and the input tray doesn’t bend.
  • The paper used must meet the given specification and remove any paper that doesn’t meet the requirements.
  • Make sure that the paper is not folded, wrinkled or damaged and replace them with fresh sheets.
  • Confirm that the tray is not overfilled, remove any extra sheet of paper.
  • Make sure that the paper guides are adjusted correctly until they rest on the edge of the paper.
  • Choose Menu on the printer’s control panel and confirm if paper type and size are configured correctly.
  • Try to print the document and if the error still persists then use Clean Page Smears tool to clean the page smears.
  • Reset the 123.hp.com/dj4530 printer and then try to print, if the issues don’t get resolved then service the printer.

Connection problems

Step 1 : Check the network status in Network and Sharing Center

  • Check View your active networks section at the top of the page.
  • If it is not connected to a network then click Set up a new connection.
  • Enter the Username and password and click Connect.

Step 2 : Re-install Network adapter software

  • Open the device manager tab and select the network adapters list.
  • Choose the adapter name and click Uninstall.
  • After uninstalling the software, re-install the Network adapter software.

Step 3 : Configure Advanced Sharing option

  • Open the View network status box and select Change advanced sharing.
  • Click Turn on network discovery.
  • Choose Turn on file and printer sharing and save the changes made.

Step 4 : Upgrade the network drivers

  • Go to our website and download the latest printer driver.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
  • Once you are done, reboot the system and connect to the network.

Step 5 : Remove the printer from the list

  • Open the list of devices connected to your system.
  • look for your 123 HP Deskjet 4530 Printer name in the displayed result.
  • Remove the printer name, add it again and save the changes.

Step 6 : Create manual IP address

  • Obtain the URL for EWS from the network configuration report.
  • Browse through this URL in the system that is connected to the network.
  • Create a manual IP address under the network tab and save the changes.
  • Try to setup a connection after completing the above troubleshooting steps.

Solve Print-Quality Problems

Step 1 : Print from different software

  • Try to print from a different software program and check if the document is printed correctly.
  • If the page prints correctly then the problem might be with the software which should be replaced.
  • If the page does not print correctly then check the Paper type setting and adjust the same.

Step 2 : Print Supplies Status

  • Go to Manage Supplies and click Print Supplies Status.
  • This will give a report of all supply items. Check the report to verify the estimated level of the toner cartridge.
  • Replace the cartridge if the level is lesser than that which is required for quality printing.

Step 3 : Genuine HP cartridge

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and examine the cartridge that is used for printing.
  • If it is not Genuine HP cartridge or if it is damaged, then replace the cartridge.
  • After replacing the cartridge, close the ink cartridge access door and try printing.

Step 4 : Use the automatic Cleaning tool

  • Go to Device Maintenance, then select Calibration/Cleaning and tap Cleaning Page.
  • The automatic cleaning tool will clear out any smears and a cleaning message will be displayed.
  • Try to print a sample document once the cleaning process is done and if there is an error try the next step.

Step 5 : Update the driver

  • Updates for the driver are regularly released on our website which can be downloaded.
  • Update your driver and software by downloading the updates from our website.
  • To increase the performance of your 123 HP Deskjet 4530 Printer regular firmware update is required.

Step 6 : Check the printhead

  • Clean the printhead regularly by navigating to Tools on the printer’s control panel.
