A Cartridge Problem message occurs
Step 1 : Ensure that the 123 HP OJ100 cartridges are fixed correctly
Access the front access cover of the printer. Confirm that the tri-color cartridge is placed in the left compartment and the black or photo cartridge is placed in the right compartment. Close the cartridge latches and the front access cover. If the issue still takes place while printing, go to the next step.
Step two : Remove and then re-add the cartridges
Access the front access cover and halt until the carriage is idle and quiet. Raise the cartridge latch to set free the cartridge from the slot. Without being rough, pull the cartridge up and out to detach it. You can remove a specific cartridge or both the cartridges according to the error message displayed. Re-add the cartridge at a slight angle into the existing carriage compartment. Shut the cartridge latch and the front access cover. Give time for the cartridge initialization process to finish. If the problem still takes place with printing, go to the next step.
Step three : Clean the cartridge’s electrical contacts
After opening the front access cover, detach the power cord and battery from the printer. Raise the cartridge latch to set free the cartridge from the compartment, and then pull the cartridge up and out, without giving too much pressure, to eliminate it. You can remove both cartridges or a specific cartridge as per the error message. Examine the cartridge contacts for ink formation and debris. Ensure that you clean only the copper-colored contacts with a damp cloth. Tilt the cartridge on its side and then keep it on a sheet of paper to dry. You can also wipe the cartridge slot contacts present inside the carriage chute without being rough, to eliminate any ink formation and dirt. After the contacts dry for around ten minutes, re-mount the cartridge at a slight angle in the carriage compartment. Seal the cartridge latch and re-plug the battery and power cord to the 123 HP OJ100 printer. You can then shut the front access cover. After the cartridge initialization process is finished, mount white paper into the input tray.
Align the Cartridges
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7
Select the Toolbox option from the All Programs in Start. You can then use the Services tab to align the print cartridges.
Mac OS X
After the HP Utility opens from the Dock, select your 123 HP OJ100 printer under Printers if there are more than one printer available in the utility list. You can align the cartridges. If you still face problem, proceed with the next step.
Step 4 : Switch the printer off and on again
After turning off the printer and turning it on again, attempt printing again. If you still face the problem go to the next step.
Step five : Substitute the cartridges
After turning on the 123 HP OJ100 printer, access the front access cover. Give some time for the carriage to remain idle and quiet. Raise the cartridge latch, and then detach the cartridge from the carriage, without giving pressure. Eliminate the new cartridge from its package and take away the protective tape. After inserting the cartridge into the carriage slot, shut the cartridge latch. You can also shut the front access cover. Ensure that you align the cartridges.

Solution one : Switch off the printer and then switch on again
After turning off the printer and then turning it on again, print a self-test report by mounting white paper into the tray. For this press and hold the Cancel button on the product control panel for few seconds. If the test page does not print, proceed with the next solution.
Solution two : Remove any jammed paper
Eliminate any loose sheets of paper from the output slot and the input tray. Then remove the power cord from the power strip or wall socket and eliminate, without force, any jammed paper of pieces of torn paper in the output slot. Connect the power cord back into the power source or wall jacket. After turning on the 123 HP OJ100 printer, load paper into the input tray. Touch the Resume button. The printer proceeds with printing the next page. Now you can resend the pages that were jammed. Eliminate the paper jam from the interior part of the printer in case you cannot detach the jam from the output slot. After opening the front access cover, give some time for the carriage to go to the center access area. Remove the power cord from the power source or wall socket. Solution three : Ensure that the carriage moves freely
You can look out for hindrances in the carriage path. Access the front access cover. Confirm that the cartridges are locked into the carriage, and that the cartridge latch is sealed. Eliminate any paper or hindrances that might stop movement of the carriage. Touch the printer’s front access area and then move the carriage by yourself. Move the carriage to the left and right side of the printer if the carriage is stuck on the right and left side respectively. You can also move the carriage to the right side of the printer if the carriage is stuck in the middle of the 123.hp.com/oj100 printer. You can eliminate any other paper or hindrances from around the carriage. Confirm that the carriage can move without any hindrance by pushing it left and right. Attach the power cord back into the power source or wall socket. Mount paper into the input tray and then press the Resume button. You can then print a self-test print report. Solution four : Detach and re-fix the cartridges
Access the front access cover, raise the cartridge latch, and then eliminate the cartridge from the carriage, without much pressure. Insert the cartridge by grasping it by its sides, at a slight angle inside the carriage slot. Confirm that the cartridge clicks into place. Keep the tri-color cartridge into the left slot, and the black or photo cartridge into the right slot. Shut the cartridge latch and the front access cover. Solution five : Connect the printer directly into a wall socket
Detach the power cord from the back of the printer, power strip or surge suppressor. Then you can connect it directly into the wall socket. After relinking the power cord into the back of the printer, turn on the 123.hp.com/oj100 printer and print a self-test report. If the issue still happens proceed with the next step.
Solution six : Do a power reset
After switching off the printer, detach the power cord from the back of the printer and the electrical outlet. After 30 seconds, re-link the power cord into the electrical socket and to the back of the 123 HP Setup Officejet 100 printer. Switch on the printer and print a self-test report.
Printing from a Bluetooth-enabled device
After switching on the printer, touch the Bluetooth button. Raise the access cover and the paper tray. Mount the paper print-side up into the tray, and then customize the paper width guide.
After setting the camera in Play/Review mode, navigate to choose the printable image. Touch the Menu button and then choose Transmit. Choose your 123.hp.com/oj100 printer.
Hp iPAQ Pocket PC
When you use Image Zone method, you can choose the image that you want to print from the HP Image Zone. When you use Mobile Printing, touch the printer icon available in the lower-right corner of the screen and choose Mobile Printing.
For printing photos from an imaging application, choose Send via Bluetooth from the imaging application. Choose your 123 HP OJ100 printer as soon as the phone identifies Bluetooth devices. Step 1 : Fix the HP Mobile Printing for Pocket PC Software
You can do this even through clicking My Computer from Start and then selecting the CD drive. Link the Pocket PC to the computer. Then double-click the existing software .exe file.
Step 2 : Print the item from the Pocket PC
Switch on the Bluetooth radio and then touch Start. Then you can touch HP Mobile Printing and choose the file you want to print. You can accept the defaults or modify the print settings using Print Options. Then you can print.
Windows Mobile device
Step one : Fix the Windows Mobile Solutions software on the computer
In case the installer does not start after inserting the 123 HP OJ100 printer CD into the CD drive, you can perform these steps: For Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, tap My Computer from Start and then double-click the CD drive. As soon as the Install Wizard initializes, choose Windows Mobile Solutions and then tap Print Solution. The Westtek Jetcet Installation Wizard initializes; perform the on-screen instructions.
