Unable to print using Mopria service on an Android device

Make use of following solutions to solve common settings and connectivity issues when printing with Mopria Print Service.

Solution 1: Turn on the Mopria

  •   Access Settings and Select Printing.
  •   Tap On the Mopria Print Service.
  •   Attempt to print.

Solution 2: Reboot the devices and verify the connections

Step 1: Reboot the mobile device, router, and your printer

  •   Power off the router by following the router manufacturer instructions.
  •   Power off your printer and mobile device.
  •   Switch on the router.
  •   Hold for a minute to finish the start up process
  •   Turn on the mobile device and establish your wireless network.
  •   Switch on the printer.
  •   Attempt to print

Step 2: Connect your printer to the mobile device.

Follow the steps below to connect your printer and mobile device to the same network

  •   Open the network settings from the printer’s control panel.
  •   Ensure that network name is similar to the name of the wireless network to connect to the mobile device.

Step 3: Refurbish the firmware for the printer and the router

  •   Install latest firmware version for your printer.
  •   Ensure that the manufacturer has installed the latest firmware for your router.

Printer is listed but not working

Confirm that the mobile device is configured to your printer’s wireless network

  •   On your mobile device, select Settings, Wi-Fi and then On.
  •   Choose your printer name.
  •   Attempt to print.

Option 1: Choose your printer

Choose your printer to connect it to your mobile device

  •   On your mobile device, Select Settings, and then select Printing.
  •   Search Mopria Print Service, and then press On.
  •   Choose your printer to connect it to your mobile device.
  •   Attempt to print.

Option 2: Switch off other print services

Turn off the multiple print services that are not in use.

  •   On your mobile device, Select Settings, and then select Printing.
  •   Search Mopria Print Service, and then tap On,
  •   Tap off for all other print services that are not in use.
  •   Attempt to print.

Fixing Scan Quality Issues

Clean the scanner

Debris or dust on the scanner glass, under the scanner glass or in the document feed slot can be the reason for lines and color bands. Clean these areas with a soft cloth sprayed with glass cleaner.

Printers with a flatbed scanner glass and lid

Clean the scanner glass and undersurface of the scanner lid with a soft cloth.

  •   Switch off the printer.
  •   Unplug the power cord.
  •   Raise the scanner lid.
  •   Clean the scanner glass and scanner lid with a soft cloth and glass cleaner
  •   Replug the power cord.
  •   Switch on the printer.
  •   Seal the scanner lid.
  •   Remove the debris from the scanner glass and place the original document or photo in it.
    If the flaws exist, move to the next step.

Printers with a document scan feeder

Clean the dirt inside the document feeder with a soft cloth sprayed with glass cleaner.

  •   Switch off the printer, unplug the power cable from the printer and eliminate the battery from the printer
  •   Open top cover, document feeder tray and scan document feeder cover.
  •   Clean the dirt from the document feeder using a soft cloth sprayed with glass cleaner.
  •   Close the covers and trays.
  •   Unplug the power cord.
  •   Reinstall the battery and then power on the printer.
  •   Insert the document and photo into the document feeder and then try to scan.
    If the issue exists, proceed to the next step.

Clean the automatic document feeder (ADF) rollers

Clean the debris from the automatic document feeder which can cause scan quality issues.

  •   Organize the following materials:
    •   A lint-free cloth
    •   Distilled water
  •   Discard the document from the ADF.
  •   Switch off the printer.
  •   Unplug the power cord from the hindmost of the printer. Access the ADF cover.
  •   Clean the paper pick rollers and the separator pad with a damp cloth.
  •   Wait until the paper pick rollers and separator pad to dry. Seal the ADF cover. Place the document with the print side up in the document feeder tray.
  •   Drift the paper width guides until they rest against the paper.
  •   Replug the power cord to the hindmost of the printer.Switch on the printer and then attempt to scan.

Windows

HP Printer Assistant

Change the scan settings with HP Printer Assistant.

  •   Depending on the printer type, place the document on the scanner glass, in the document feeder slot, or in the automatic document feeder.
  •   Search Windows for your printer model and then click on it.HP Printer Assistant page displays.
  •   Press Scan a document or Photo under Scan menu
  •   To preview your scan, choose Show scan preview or Show viewer After Scan and then save it
  •   To alter your settings in terms of quality and color, press Advanced settings or More
  •   Press Scan
  •   Double-click the thumbnail image of the scanned item to change any additional settings
  •   Press Save and choose the folder to save the scanned image.
    If the issue exists, continue to the next step.

HP Solution Center

Change the scan settings with HP Solution Center.

  •   Based on your printer type, insert the item on the scanner glass, in the document feeder slot or in the automatic document feeder.
  •   Search Windows for ‘solution center’ and then click on it
  •   View the scan shortcuts and settings by clicking Scan Document or Scan Picture.
  •   To alter the settings for quality and resolution, press Advanced Picture Settings or Advanced Document Settings
  •   Press Save to store the file to your required destination.
  •   Press Scan and a scan preview window open on the computer.
  •   Press Finish to save the scanned file.

Mac:Alter the scan settings from a Mac computer with HP Easy Scan.

HP Easy Scan

Alter the scan settings in the HP Easy Scan app.

  •   Depending on the printer type, insert the paper on the scanner glass, in the document feeder slot, or in the automatic document feeder.
  •   Press HP Easy Scan by searching on the Mac for Scan.
  •   Choose your printer name from the Scanner drop-down menu.
  •   Choose your scan type from the Presets menu.
  •   Press Edit settings to edit the scan color, orientation or quality.
  •   Press Scan.
  •   To scan additional pages, select Scan Next item or press Done.
  •   If necessary, press Edit to adjust colors or crop the size.Click Send and then folder to save the scanned document or photo.Press the Where menu to search the folder to save the file and then press Save.

Reset the printer

Resetting the printer might fix the problem

  •   Discard the document or photo from the scanner glass and automatic document feeder
  •   Seal the scanner lid.
  •   Unplug the power cord from the printer and from the electrical outlet.
  •   Wait a minute and connect the power cord into a wall outlet and to the printer
  •   Insert the document or photo, then attempt to scan

Step 6: Service or replace the printer

Replace the product if you finished all the previous steps. Repair fees might apply for out-of –warranty products.
